What is a Brow Lift?
A brow lift (or forehead lift) repositions the eyebrows higher and smooths the lines that come with age and repeated expression. Depending on your anatomy, Dr. Saxon uses one of several techniques to raise the brow, open up the eyes, and restore a more youthful upper-face balance — without changing what makes your face yours.
A Brow Lift Corrects:
- Sagging or lowered eyebrows
- Hooded appearance of eyes
- Age-related brow descent
- Genetic predisposition to lower brows
- Reduced eye openness due to brow position

What is the Ideal Eyebrow Position for Women and Men?
Brow position isn’t one-size-fits-all: a flattering women’s brow typically arches higher, while a natural men’s brow sits lower and straighter. Dr. Saxon plans every lift around those differences and around your individual proportions, so the outcome reads as balanced rather than generic.
Types of Brow Lifts
The right incision depends on how much lift you need, where your hairline sits, and your skin. Dr. Saxon selects among endoscopic, temporal, and other approaches to place scars discreetly and give you the elevation your face actually needs — no more, no less.
Direct Brow Lift
A direct brow lift means the incision is made within the eyebrow to directly lift it over the brow bone. This is common in men who do not have any hair to hide a scar. Rather than placing the scar on the forehead, the incision is hidden within the hairs of the eyebrow. This approach can be great for those with functional problems related to their low eyebrows.
Mid-Forehead Brow Lift
A mid-forehead lift entails placing the incision within a wrinkle in the forehead in order to lift the brows. In men with thinning hair, an incision for a brow lift can often be better hidden within deep wrinkles in the middle of the forehead compared to the scalp or eyebrow.
Pretrichial Brow Lift
A pretrichial brow lift means that the incision is placed within the hairline. For those with a stable but high hairline, Dr. Saxon will frequently recommend this approach. A pretricheal brow lift allows the brows to be lifted both centrally and laterally, which significantly feminizes the forehead. It is also the best approach to prevent changing the hairline position since other areas of incision can often raise the hairline slightly. It is also the best approach for those who also want to have hairline lowering (forehead reduction) at the same time.
Coronal Brow Lift
A coronal brow lift involves making an incision at the top of the head hidden within the hair. Although it still means making a large incision, it generally heals very well and is undetectable. Much like a pretricheal brow lift, a coronal brow lift raises the entire length of the brows to make the eyes look larger. In order to have a coronal brow lift, the hairline must be in a normal or low position, since the hairline can be slightly raised with this approach.
Endoscopic Brow Lift
An endoscopic brow lift means making small incisions in the scalp to introduce a camera into the forehead. This allows structures like nerves, muscles, and blood vessels to be safe while allowing smaller incisions in the scalp. Endoscopic brow lifts often necessitate fixation devices like endotines, screws, or permanent sutures underneath the skin to maintain the ideal brow position.
Temporal Brow Lift
A temporal brow lift can be done if only minimal brow lifting is needed. Small incisions are made on either side of the hairline to lift the lateral aspects of the brows. The central portion of the brow does not change in a temporal brow lift. This procedure can be done under local anesthesia in the office with minimal downtime.

The Recovery Process After A Brow Lift
Early on, it’s common to feel numbness or tightness across the forehead and scalp as the tissues settle — this eases over the following weeks. Most patients return to normal routines within a couple of weeks, with swelling and any bruising resolving over that window. Dr. Saxon’s Dallas office handles your follow-up so recovery stays close to home.
Brow Lift FAQs
Do you perform brow lifts in Dallas?
Dr. Saxon sees Dallas-area patients for consultations and follow-up at her Dallas office (5646 Milton St. Ste. 305, Dallas, TX 75206). Your brow lift surgery itself is performed at her accredited facility in Austin. For most Dallas patients it’s a simple flow — a local consult, one trip to Austin for the procedure, then follow-up back in Dallas.
Who is the ideal candidate for a brow lift?
The best candidates have brows that have dropped or heavied with age or genetics. It can also suit younger patients whose family tends toward naturally low brows.
How long do the results of a brow lift typically last?
Results generally hold for 5 to 10 years, sometimes longer, depending on your aging pattern and lifestyle. A brow lift turns the clock back but doesn’t stop it — some patients choose maintenance treatments or a touch-up down the line.
What is the cost of a brow lift?
Cost depends on the technique and whether it’s combined with other procedures. Dr. Saxon gives you a personalized quote at your consultation — Saxon MD is cash-pay and offers financing.
Can a brow lift correct wrinkles and lines on the forehead?
It helps — lifting and tightening the forehead smooths many lines — but how much depends on your skin, age, and how deep the lines are. Dr. Saxon may pair it with Botox or filler for the best result.
Will a brow lift make my forehead appear unnaturally stretched or pulled?
Not in skilled hands. Dr. Saxon customizes the lift to your anatomy specifically to avoid a startled look — the goal is a rested, natural result, not an obviously “done” one.
